DJ PINCH AT ROUGH TRADE EAST! friday 22/5 at 7pm.
Pinch's reputation as a pioneer of dancefloor dubstep styles is truly a well earned one. His music and work over the past five years have lifted him from underground roots and gained him worldwide recognition as a producer and DJ, bringing cutting edge bass heavy drops to an ever expanding fan base. The ground-breaking, critically acclaimed debut long player, 2007's 'Underwater Dancehall', has become a milestone in the history of dubstep, firmly establishing Pinch as a key player in the development of the scene.
As founder and label head of Tectonic, Pinch has developed a roster of today's most innovative producers, releasing a succession of cutting-edge singles from the likes of Skream, RSD, 2562, Benga, Martyn, Flying Lotus, Joker, Peverelist, DQ1, Digital Mystikz, Distance and more.
The label's forthcoming release 'Tectonic Plates 2' brings together the latest massive drops from the series, most of which are now sold out. The second disc is an unbelievable mix from Pinch himself, featuring tons of unreleased dubplates, mixed only as Pinch knows how. Tectonic has become established as a leading global force, alongside the likes of the highly influential Tempa and Hyperdub imprints, bringing knowledge and authenticity with every release.\

this sun is a slow burner...
It not often a record can make me get off my arse to do a post on here without some form of bribery........I am a sucker for Wispa bars after all, but this here record is bloody awesome. Yeah it's a mixture of psyche, out rock and folk but Sleepy Sun do it so well and well track two is possibly THE best song I have heard this year. All I can say is it sounds like Jeff Buckley meets Sabbath and i fucking love it. Buy the album here

And they say Italians Do It better ?
DC Recordings is one of our fave labels at Rough Trade East, consistantly releasing the most amazing nu disco gems in this galaxy or the next. They are getting ready to drop a new album 'Space Beyond The Egg' by the ever elusive Emperor Machine and what a corker it is, due out on June 8th it's set to be our album of the week and DC are producing an exclusive mix cd especially for us to give away with the album.
DC have given us a really nice edit of "You Clapper" for you to download, it is a space disco banger and should get you right in the mood for one of this summers best dance records by a long shot.
